Kory,
Why not throw in some readings by some Jamaican writers who might be willing to volunteer for the event as well, since so many locals from all over the island look forward to this weekend every year in Treasure Beach? It would not be billed as the Calabash International Literary Festival (which it obviously would not be!) but it would certainly give some of the usual 'suspects' a good reason to come by and enjoy, not just the great seafood, but a bit of literary enrichment as well.

Hi Kory,Well done on siezing the moment.
Will there be an admisson fee to enter sunset and can locals attend? Will there be market stalls? Think that having authors and live music is a great idea, just how much space do you have...

I think it's wonderful that Kory wants to step up and try to fill a void since the organizers of Calabash dropped the ball. I hope everyone who booked rooms for the weekend will still come to this fabulous village and enjoy all of the shops, restaurants, beaches and friendly people. If everyone plans a little something like a dance or literary readings, everyone in the community will profit. Let's not let the holiday weekend suffer just because Calabash was cancelled.
