I was a site leader on the UVA Alternative Spring Break Trip to Treasure Beach this year, and want to thank everyone for a wonderful time! The hospitality of every member of the community surprised me still even in my second year coming on the trip. Fantastic!

Here are a few photos from our trip:

I went on the Alternative Spring Break: Treasure Beach, Jamaica trip this year and had one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Going into it, I knew it would be a fantastic time, just for the sole reason that I would be visiting Jamaica; I didn't realize until afterwards the great affect it had on me as an individual. The phone calls and emails I get from my kids at Sandy Bank Primary make it all worthwhile. Hopefully I'll be able to keep contact with them for a long time to come and be able to visit again in the near future. Thank you to all those who assisted us along the way!

This was my first year coming to Treasure Beach for an ASB trip and I can honestly say it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The community was so welcoming and it was so cool to be able to interact with the kids of Treasure Beach and help them in school. I look forward to seeing everybody next year!

I was also a site leader for the trip this year to Treasure Beach! It was such a pleasure being back in this loving community in Jamaica. I have really found a place in my heart for Treasure Beach, and I look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you all for all your kindness and love always. All the best!

Hi, Laura and all the others with pictures to post from the UVA trip.

We really appreciate you sharing them with us, but we are not able to accept anything over 600 pixels wide. (Laura, the ones you posted are 1600 wide.)

Please either use Photoshop (or similar to make them smaller) or use the Photo Gallery to upload them and they'll automatically be reduced in size (but also quality, unfortunately).

Thanks again for your great work in TB this year.

I cannot think of a better place to have spent my Spring Break than in Treasure Beach. I had the privilege of working with the young kids at the Sandy Bank “basic school” and I had such a great time reading to them, playing with them, and just getting to know them. Their spirit and energy was contagious. Thank you for the warm hospitality we encountered in Treasure Beach, it was truly a memorable and wonderful experience.

Spending a week in Treasure Beach getting to know and helping the kids at the Sandy Bank Basic School was a very fun and rewarding experience. The kids were all so bright and excited-- I am glad they enjoyed our company so much. The Treasure Beach community was very welcoming and I hope I get the chance to return some day and experience all of it again.

I could write an entire book on the amazing experiences I had at Treasure Beach. I went on this trip hoping to have a positive impact on the lives of the children and Sandy Bank Primary; However, what I was not expecting was the huge impact that they would have on me. I get nostalgic every time I think about the trip or see a picture that reminds me of the friends I made. I hope they have not forgotten about me because I certainly have not forgotten about them. I wish everyone in the world was as nice as the Treasure Beach community and I hope that I can return one day soon. Thanks for everything

Going to Treasure Beach, Jamaica for Alternative Spring Break is definitely one choice I will never regret. I was pleasantly surprised not only by the physical beauty of the place, but the amazing warmth and hospitality of the locals. More importantly, helping the incredibly lovable children at Sandy Bank Primary School made this trip an unforgettable experience. If given a chance, I definitely want to go back again!

Sorry I forgot the add the message - the pictures above are mine!

I worked with the Grade 2 children, and they were really the most lovable kids I've ever met. They were so full of energy and always eager to learn, although in the end I think I learned more from them! I was also very touched by their warmth and friendliness. I had a really memorable time at the school.

Deciding to go to Treasure Beach was definitely the best decision that I've made in a long time. I hope I can go back there one day! Thank you for hosting us!

Treasure Beach is AWESOME!!!! From the moment i stepped foot in Jamaica, i felt so welcomed! The people that we came across every day were so hospitable and really made our stay that much easier. The kids I worked with at Sandy Bank Primary School really touched me and I have kept them in my heart. I'm keeping in touch with the students and I can't wait to see them all again! Thank you to everyone in the community and the school that made our trip so fun and comfortable!

This is Aliyah's father, living in the US.
I would like to know who is trying to contact my daughter Aliyah and for what reason.

The Sandy Bank Primary School family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the students of the University of Virginia and James Madison University who made the sacrifice during their Spring Break to assist the students here. Your warmth and concern for the students have impacted on them in a positive way and I know they will always remember the love you radiated as portrayed in the beautiful pictures.

Going to Treasure Beach for Alternative Spring Break was an incredible experience. I was amazed at how welcoming the people were and how tight-knit the community was. I worked in the basic school and the kids were absolutely adorable! I feel like they taught me so much more than I taught them. It was definitely the best spring break that I've ever had, and I still ask myself why I got the airplane to come back home.

This was my first year going to Treasure Beach on ASB trip. I was surprised at how excited and thankful the kids were, and how welcoming the community was. It was such a rewarding experience, and the kids really impacted me. Thank you for everything and I hope to visit again sometime!
