Stayed there many times.

Very nice for the price and location. Dawn is great and takes good care of you. If you require luxuries like a private pool, etc, go to a (much?) more expensive villa.

Yes, rooms are have A/C, though its not really needed.

Get ice from the freezer.

No 'official' cambios in TB, but its not hard to find exchange...or go to Cross Roads 15 min down the road.

Eric was he talking about the house or two cottages out front. He might get the two confused. The house is great, rooms nice and cold,Dawn is great.I haven't stayed in the cottage out front and do not know if they have ac.

Good question. In thinking about it, my advice stands for either.

Except that the cabins are do not AC (thank goodness! :-)

Sounds perfect! We've been going to Jamaica for 12 years and the last thing I look for is a pool. That's what the Ocean is for..LOL!

The beach at Calabash House is the best - just walk right into the sea, then swing in the hammocks on the little gazebo seaside. The gardens are particularly beautiful with flowers and jasmine to enjoy. I wanted the perfect place to stay last February and got it at Calabash House.

Oh..Delven's, the Sprat, Fishermans Club, Morris's, Winsomes and Culloden Cafe are all within walking distance - what more do you need?

PS....pleanty of ice is available too for the rum and cokes...

No, this is Calabash House. Check out their ad in the Where to Stay section or click here to see the ad.

You are thinking of Calabash Bay Villa which is different from Calabash House. The first is owned by Jason Henzell's in-laws.

I have stayed at Calabash House a number of times. The cottages are not air conditioned and while I stay in the main house I have never used the air conditioning. Dawn and Roxanne are the best. Elizabeth Seltzer owns the property and it is a great place to stay. Jerry

Donna, No We have only been as far South as Black River and the Pelican. We have wanted to visit the South Coast for years. This year we'll have time!

Jerry, A.C. not a biggy for me. Rather not have it on. Sea breeze is enough. Are the cottages right next to the Ocean?

Am planning on staying 3 nights in the Bluefield area, then on to Treasure Beach. Want something directly on the beach with privacy and am considering the cottage at Calabash house. You can't tell by the pictures if your view is out to the water or toward the front. Any help? Any place else within reason you've heard of thats not rooms or B&B?

The cottage has a great view of the sea.

You could also look at Heron's Reef.

Both look inviting! Heron's Reef seems to have more privacy, but is also more expensive. Now which one ? Thanks for your help.

Great view from Herons Reef. Better privacy and beautiful piece of property.Worth the few extra bucks!

As far as privacy goes, be aware that the two cottages at Calabash House share a little outside kitchen and dining table very close to the cottages. Heron's Reef is self-contained and very private.
