My brother has one thay he will give me for free. Is it worth my while to pay shipping and duty to send it to Jamaica. (we do have a land that we plan to build on) My husband feels hat it would not be worth the $$ to send it. I am wondering.

I would say it would be absolutely cheaper to either buy or rent one from here. After all the paperwork and hassle of shipping it down, there is no guarantee that it won't get shipped in damage. Then you have to get it from Montego Bay or Kingston to Treasure Beach.

Something else to consider, we've been building houses quite well without electric cement mixers for years.

Rebecca I have finally found a point to disagree with you on. It saves such an incredible amount of time to not have to mix cement by hand, but most importantly you aren't left with the huge concrete pad in your yard where they mix the cement. Lastly the concrete is of a much better consistency and less waste.
