Nickell and I were invited to Mikarabee Estates to check out their new tour and restaurant a few days ago. We just loved it!!

What I loved the best was the hike, which is not strenuous, and so very educational. Ever, our guide, was extremely informative and showed us a great deal about bush medicine, bush teas, old time construction, etc. Both Nickell and I learned new things.

One of my favorite parts of the tour was when we were served our choice of pimento, cerassie, or leaf of life tea. The woman serving the teas also gave me some good advice about cerassie which I took and, not surprisingly, it worked!

The fresh carrot and cucumber juices handed to us at the end of the hike were just delicious and so refreshing! Then we were served a wonderful dinner on the observation deck while enjoying the sun setting into the sea far below. Let me tell you folks, Rick's Cafe in Negril can't hold a candle to this sunset.

To learn more about this tour, check out their new ad in the Eat and Play section listed in the Beyond TB button.

I am really excited about this tour as, in my opinion, it gives folks a glimpse into country living Jamaican style. And what more appropriate place to learn than deep in the Santa Cruz Mnts.

We wish Mikarabee Estates and Tours all the best in this new venture.

Hey Rebecca, I envy you on that awesome trip. Those pix are wonderful, especially, that one with the Donkeys, Oh! I love that. And I love that little line about the cerassie, I wish I could get a good drink of that Old Jamaican cerassie. As soon as I visit Jamaica I would be going up there. The kids would love that too. The food seems to be very good also. What was Nikeel looking at LOL!!!!!!!! Whatever it was, I know he was enjoying it. Nuh true Nikeel? One love.

Oooookay, I get it now. I was thinking I mistakenly posted a donkey photo, then I looked back and said, well maybe that is an old time saying. I even asked Nickell if he ever heard tea pots being called donkeys before.

That is a great laugh!!! Hey, maybe we'll start a new saying?!?!?

Always love to know I made someone laugh.

Respect.

What's the difference between a kettle and a teapot?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Lisa and Mark on Saturday, January 31, 2009 - 01:10 pm: Edit Post

The difference between a kettle and a tea pot:
Kettle boils water
Tea pot is a recepticle for putting (allready boiled)hot water into to make tea.

Was that an insult to Rosie about the Donkey and the tea pot?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Rebecca on Sunday, February 01, 2009 - 08:14 am: Edit Post

No, it was an honest misunderstanding which we both had a good laugh over.

I personally do not look at Rebecca answer as an insult, as she clearly said," it was an honest misunderstanding" it has created so much laughter for me. Hey!!! these are some of the things that make life real happy, when someone can make me laugh like she did. Let me explain what happen to me. I read the post about Mikarabee Estate, and I click on their (NEW AD) and I was checking out the pictures, so that's where I saw the Donkeys I spoke about. It was not the pix that is posted above that I really saw them. O.k so I dont want anyone to think that Rebecca had insulted me. I should have stated where I saw the Donkeys. OMG!!!!!!!! This is so much fun. I think life is too short to get caught up in small thing like this. I have known Rebecca personal, and in my mind I could see her laughing when she read what I had posted. This is just life, and I'm getting to learn how to appericiate it every day more and more. We are all God's wonderful work of art and thats a lot to smile about.
NUFF RESPECT REBECCA!!!!
