TO THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE OF TREASURE BEACH WHO CAME TO MY RESCUE AND SAVED MY HOUSE FOR BURNING DOWN: -

I am feeling really blessed because on Wednesday night I stood outside my house on Old Wharf expecting that I would never go back in it as the flames had reached my fence and the fire truck hadn't come as it was busy elsewhere, but by Divine Providence I was spared. Angels, real and imagined helped to put out that fire. I would like to list here some of my saviours, but I know there were others who I did not even know were also helping to put out the fire - with hoses, buckets of water and fire extinguishers.

I would like to thank:
Cookie Kinkead,
Edwin Ebanks,
Gussie (who should be a fireman!)
Rebecca Wiersma
Nickell Hill
Darren James
Jason Taylor
Randy Mills
Miss Dolly Taylor
Laura Henzell
Kamar (fireman off duty came from Watchwell to help)
Neighbours from the end of the lane.
Miss Yvonne Clarke
Linkoy
Chris Bennett
Chris Lewis
Fitzy
Janice Heale
Conroy Reynolds
Julie Koliopulos
Ann Lyons
Marc & Michele
Petronia
Devane
Audrey
Larry and Holly
Zebedee
Miss Vaughnie
Charmaine
Colleen Powell
Sardia Stephenson

I will remain ever grateful to the kindness and courage and skill of those people who, unasked, came to my assistance when I was in the greatest need.

I remain,
Yours,
Sally Henzell

That fire was so close. You are very fortunate to live in such a great community with great people ready to help. Like Lisa (above poster) I also have pictures of your house, from the raod and sea. It is my favorite in all of the area. I am glad it was saved and I hope you don't mind your house has a fan club.

Miss Sally,

We haven't been formerly introduced but we are happy that the fire did not reach your home. How terrifying that must have been for you. We have been staying across the field at Villa Jah-Jah. It was unnerving for us and we are thankful that no one was hurt.

But how honored we have been to witness Treasure Beach at it's finest. What a sense of community. How rare that can be. Witnessing neighbors coming to the aid of ones in need. And everyone got the job done! What a model to the world!!!

We have fallen in love with Treasure Beach and it's people. Blessings to you all!!!

Larry & Holly

Miss Sally
I have not had the privilege of meeting you yet and wish I had been there to help you. The lot that I own in Treasure Beach is not too far from your house( Lot 9 ,Calabash) right by the sand dune. I feel I am your neighbor.
It is wonderful that you were not hurt and your home was spared. Someday I will to have a home close to yours and I hope to meet you.

! SPARK - FOR KAMALA DAS!

Fire, golden flames refined
as a spark in those eyes so deep black
and the solid captivating depth
same fire on a candle where
it can offer a prayer from its
liquefying sacrifice
same fire on a brass lamp placed
near sanctum and lanterns lucid
wrapped on glasses so fragile
words of fire Sepia painted
hungered anger, a heart that
lost a soft feeling
those eyes so deep where
a sea whispers to estuary
river ends its serene expedition
air so fluent around you
on your ruthless softness
of words impeccable
and the way confined along
hauling negations
Tomorrows can chain
perhaps scavenge and kill
remain there as a spark and
Only the Soul Knows How to Sing (J.K.)

(Rema Prasanaa)

SALLY ("La Princesse")

Praises for your safety and that your Perch/ Pavilion/ Studio/
Observatory onto and into the Universe still ebbs, flows and
breezes caught.

One feels that you bring organic miracles of Nature to your Home, and welcome all manner of offerings of wood and glass and metal... rust and shell and feather and cloth and such and such to the Altars.
Someday, perhaps, some of these may even be burned in Sacrifice and contort and re-Shape into new molten Wonders.

Even in the danger of the fire and a charged-up community
swatting it and pouring liquid on it until it steamed as if from
a fumarole, I would "imagine" that the Beauty of the Flames
(in Myth, a Purifier, an expression of passion and its spent remnants; its Gift from the gods; its focusing of our meditations,
even to the level of hypnosis) flicker always.

But in gnostic plans, the Server and the Served, the Helper and
the Helped are as fluid as our Sea...One Love

PARTING DITTY:

"Sally go round the roses...
Sally go round the pretty roses
Hope this place can't hurt you
Roses they can't hurt you...

During this dry and gusty season, we must all become very aware of the threat of fires. Before the fire that nearly caught my house there had been two or three recent ones in the Old Wharf area and they were all started unintentionally by people who thought that the fire they had lit had been contained and completely put out. What they did not realise is that a fire can last underground in a root system even with dirt and water thrown on top. Therefore we must be all so careful and should refrain from lighting any fires as long as we have this big breeze blowing.
