I am really interested in putting together a care package for someone in TB. There wouldn't really be anything of great monetary value, just lots of sentimental value and I would hate for it to get lost or never make it there.
Can anyone tell me the best way to send packages? I know there is a DHL in Black River but I'm sure the prices are astronomical!
Thank you so much for your help.
Where did you stay? We often have guests who've been at Hikaru and want to send such a package; we put them in touch with guests who will be coming soon. So long as it's not too big, almost anyone headed to where you stayed won't mind bringing along such a gift.
I have had horrible results sending something via mail through the post office. Some packages have just disappeared into thin air. If you do so, be sure to alert the receiver as he or she will have to go there to check to see if the package arrived or it will be returned to you, and the recipient will also have to bring ID and tell the PO from whom a package is being sent. Very annoying. DHL or UPS or FedEx are reliable but are very expensive. If your package is small you might post that here and get someone to take it down there with them.
When my daughter lived in Treasure Beach for awhile, we could only be sure if we sent Fed Ex. It is rather expensive, but it is reliable.
I have sent packages a few times via mail (from Canada) to TB and it has always reached there. Takes approx. 30 days.
