I can hardly even begin to describe my experience at Shirley's Steam Bath. I'll begin with what an amazing, self aware, healing presence she is!

The steam bath was something that I have never experienced before and was amazing. The herbal concoction that Shirley puts together is beyond words. The experience was meditative, relaxing and purifying!

I have massages regularly, and have experienced both relaxing massages and deep tissue massages, I have had a massage overlooking the carribean sea in Jamaica but what I have never experienced is a healing massage. I truly wish I was more eloquent and could really put out there how I felt when I left Shirley's place ~ which by the way is fabulous!

If you are looking for a steam bath & massage..she's the lady to visit!!!!

Shirley clearly is a healer or you wouldn't have had such a spiritual experience. Anyone can give a massage but its someone who is passionate about their craft that makes the difference. Perhaps Shirley did some energy work on you during the process.

I look forward to visiting her on my next visit!

Shirly is fantastic. She has a gift and a passion that goes with it! What a woman. You go girl!

Shauna, you are absolutely right, Shirley's steam bath and massage is unique. You come away feeling wonderfully relaxed in both mind and body. It really is an amazing experience.

Shirley is located just after the turn to Great Bay when you come down the hill from the police station. She has a long stone wall in front of her place. Call first for an appointment and she can direct you.

Please disregard my earlier posting. Reading further, I followed the link to Eat & Play. My apologies.

For a great massage, you should also consider Joshua. He is the best - not only for feeling relaxed and refreshed, but for healing, too! He is so good, I have considered making the trip just to get one of his healing experiences! He will come to wherever you are in Treasure Beach.

I agree with Amy. There is nothing nicer than having Joshua come to wherever you're staying. It is so wonderful to not have to end up back in a vehicle after a massage. It keeps the bliss and relaxation going. A perfect vacation - use Joshua one day - then Shirley - then Joshua. I would have a massage every day if I could afford it.

This is all about Shirley, none else. Sorry if I have offended anyone.

Both massages and people are very different experiences. I'm sure both are healers. And both can be tried. If you someone to visit you and be blissed out or if you want to experience the joy of Shirlys house, steam room and garden (which is also an experience in itself)I'm sure I would have both as well!
