Alot has been said lately about pictures, or the lack of them when searching the internet for a room or villa. It has been said that, 'no pictures, no stay'. Being that I am in real estate and sell houses, this way of deciding if you want to stay in a particular place may not always lead to a wise decision. First of all, I can make the dumpiest place look nice for a day. Just long enough to get the pictures taken. A nice picture from 2 years ago hardly gives me comfort. Have you ever seen that nice huge juicy burger in an ad, go to th restaurant and it isn't even close? Compare the picture of the burger on the menu to the one in front of you...
Also some rooms are small, and you can barely get a picture of the bed. Small isn't bad, but if all you see is a bed, what good is that? Also, I do not take pictures of bathrooms unless there is some awesome feature such as a huge hot tub or something. People don't get too excited about toilets.

Mnken, I agree with alot of what you say however you can get an idea of what a place is like, whether you want to stay somewhere or not. If a villa owner does not show pics of their place its a tip off to me that perhaps there is something to hide.

I also like to see pictures. I know someone can have their place fixed up for picture taking or the pictures could be old, but to me more is better. A lot of places have photos they might not consider good enough for their website because they are of the snapshot variety, but if you ask they will gladly email them to you.

A picture can say a million words, but not always. Sometimes a picture give a true impression, a better impression or a worse impression of an image. So making choices from a picture is like taking a gamble and in life we have to take gambles. Asking questions and a lot of them is the best way to get information when making destination choices

At my website I use the pictures which I believe give a true impression and put out clear and concise information as to the description of the place with the prices of each room stated individually; and in my emails to enquiring travelers I try to be very precise, filling every little detail that I think is necessary - the disadvantge of choosing one room over the other or what little inconvenience there is why one room may be less cheaper than the other and so on, so no one will be mislead and I found that most of my guests are not dissapointed upon arrival. However I do get a few smarty pants who because they might be more educated than my employees try to pull a fast one or even try to show badmanship, wanting to stay in the more expensive rooms for the price of the less expensive rooms, stating that I have a misrepresentation of my place on the web, even prentending to be lawyers and threatening to sue in order for the employees to let them have the more expensive room for the price of the less expensive one, but that's life.

Sorry you're having problems. Its been acting up for others as well...it's not just you.

Send the pictures to webmaster@treasurebeach.net and we'll get them posted. Please make sure they're not too big...200K or so per picture if possible. If you're not sure, send just one and we can go from there.
