It was located on the road to Slipe but has not been in operation for quite a while. The ostriches have been moved to a farm where butterflies are bred and this farm is located in between Hanslow and Mountainside.

YS Waterfalls, Appleton Rum Factory, Milk River Baths, Guts River. Pelican Bar, 9 mile, Negril, . . . lots of places to choose from for a day out.

Enjoy!

Okay, so this got me thinking . . . good question for everyone. What is your favorite "day out" from TB?

Hard one for me to answer as I do love a boat ride, but I also just love going to YS Waterfall. Did the Zip Line the last time I was at YS and had an absolute ball, especially when I got stuck before reaching the end of the line and everyone down below yelling, "Isn't that Rebecca up there? Hey, Rebecca, what are you doing?" Then, just last week I had the chance to go to Milk River baths, followed by an exquisitely beautiful boat ride to see the manatee at Aligator Hole, and on to Little Ochie for some great seafood. Of course, going to 9 Mile is always fun as the ride throughout the mountains of the interior of Jamaica is always breathtaking and I love stopping for the roast yam and saltfish. Guess, I can't decide - I love them all.

My friend Sheryl is with me and her favorite day out is going to Negril for the day, especially Rick's Cafe. She loves the vibes, the whole scene and people watching.

Nickel Hill's vote is, well I guess he is like me. He says any time I go out for the day I have fun. "From mi buck up people and start chat it don't matter weh mi deh."

So how about you?

We have been to the Pelican Bar 3 times. I can't get enough of it. I want go back again this December but it's a toss up against Guts River and Little Ochi. Is the distance (by boat) about the same from Great Bay?

How far are these tours from Treasure beach?which would be the closest?

All the tours are different distances. Check out the See It and Do It page for a map showing the location of each place. The closest road trip is probably to YS Waterfalls which is about a 45 minute drive from Treasure Beach. The boat trips leave right from your beach.

Jeannie, Great Bay is just an additional 5 minutes from Frenchman's Bay via boat. So Pelican Bar would be just 5 minutes longer. If you mean Great Bay to Little Ochie, that is about an hour trip depending on the weather and to Guts River would be about 45 minutes past Little Ochie. The distance would be the same if you drove to these locations.

Thanks Rebecca! We always have Captain John takes us to the Pelican Bar. I love the beach side pick up service. I think I'll pass on Guts River, just seems like too long on the boat.
In April we went to the Black River to see the crocs. Then to the Pelican Bar. We saw dolphins (in their natural habitat) on the way, it was amazing.

Pelican is a must for me. And combine with the Black river when I can. Dolphins are sometimes there to be seen, and the cool vibes at Floyds can't be beat.

Little Ochi is another great one.

And then there's YS which I love...
so many great places.
