Is TB experiencing any of the effects of this cat 3 hurricane as it passes over Cayman Isles?
For instance, what is th state of the sea just now? Having watched the development of the storm over the past few days it is clear to me that Jamaica has had a near miss, thank God. Pity Cayman and, next, the Bahamas.

I asked along time ago and you said your son surfed in TB. That you had pictures. And I wanted to bring the kids of TB some surf products and you made it sound like you live there. Never did get a response?

Well Uncle Peter, I think I can speak for many here when I say we are all feeling very blessed with the near miss of what is now a Cat 4 hurricane. At the same time, Caymans and Cuba are in our thoughts and prayers, especially as they have been hit so many times this year.

Since 1 a.m. we have been having very heavy rainfall. I just took this photo from my verandah.

I have not gotten to the sea this morning but when the rain eases up a bit, you can hear the waves crashing, so I would assume it is pretty rough. I will take a photo when I can get down there.

"Surfs Up" sorry to hear you received nothing from me. I sent you several emails + action photos of Panty Hole. I guess something wrong somewhere along the line. Regret I no longer have photos so cannot repeat them.

Thanks Rebecca; a very good photo of the rain; it really does look wet! I just hope no more beach sand is being washed away. I guess all the boats are pulled up and safe.

The sun has been shining off and on for the last hour or so. I am about to go on the road, so I will take the camera and check out the sea.

The sea is very rough and high. I have heard all boats are in from Billy's Bay, Calabash Bay, and Frenchman's Bay with the exception of Waggy from Calabash Bay. I have not heard a report from Great Bay. Can anyone report if all the Great Bay boats are in?

The sun has been peaking through the clouds and no significant rain has fallen since 10 this morning.

Thank God that Jamaica has been spare from this monster hurricane. May God continue to bless our sweet, sweet Jamdown.

I woke up to beautiful sunshine this morning. It is still a bit cloudy, but the clouds are giving way to the sun.

I couldn't agree more Rosie!
