Is there anyone or business that can rebuild and programme recycled computers. Say 100 at a time?

Point is on checking electronics recycling in Vancouver, Canada, it is well organised. We can dip into the stream of computers and laptops etc. I'm sure it is similar in other North American cities.

The cost of rebuilding in Canada is a major consideration, probably also in other cities here.

Transport to Jamaica. Finding a sponsor to bring in the container. They could be given media coverage and..?? Any ideas.

Clearing the container or crate and trucking to TB...anyone? This should be a local effort?

The last key is the rebuilder/reprogrammer.

Assuming we can rebuild at a price competitive to here.

If any similar data has been gathered it would be good to share it.

The best price per hour work I get here is Canadian $20. That does not include parts and software costs. They also could not handle volume.

I anticipate adding this data to whatever has already been gathered by Mrs Kennedy and Co.

My experience with using rebuilt computers is that there is a good livelyhood to be made here.

Myself and others are ready to encourage this to happen.

Being here in Jamaica now and setting up a Software Support Call center, I brought in all my computers, print servers, routers, etc, believing that I would save money.
The fact is, I am finding computer equipment here in Jamaica that is substantially less in cost than to purchase in USA.

For that reason, I am not so sure anymore that we can cost effectively re-build and re-program used computers at a competitive price.

Please do not let this be a discouraging note as my opinion is based on very pre-liminary findings.
The verdict is still not out yet.

The fact however is that there are many qualified places in Jamaica that could do exactly what you are asking.
