Jason Henzel, BREDS and Diana McIntyre-Pike together with Sharon Chambers and Theo Chambers of Positive Tourism.com arranged a wonderful day to celebrate (a) International Peace Day, dedicated to World Peace through Tourism, and (b) a dedication to Desmond Henry in Treasure Beach.
The day began with a church service at the Temple of God, Treasure Beach, then everyone went to an area of land across from Jakes, beside the Pond, where prayers were said and the area was officially dedicated as the “Peace Area”. Fifty trees were planted and the area was dedicated to Desmond Henry for his good works and contribution to the South Coast’s Tourism product “Community Tourism”. A plaque will be erected in future denoting this area.
Refreshments were served and speeches made by:
Ø Diana McIntyre-Pike – IIPT
Ø Sharon Chambers – Positive Tourism .com
Ø Jason Henzell - BREDS
Ø Judy Schoenbein – JHTA
The area congratulates and thanks the BREDS Team for organizing such a meaningful day. This is intended to become an annual event.
