Looking at some of the new pictures in the photo gallery it looked like Frenchman's has lost a lot of sand and beach area. Is Eggy's above the tide? Winsome's? Golden Sands? Can we walk from the tree to the breakwater under the hotel?

You are right Van. Right after Gustav there was very little to no sand in areas of Frenchman's Beach. But I am happy to say much of the sand is already back. I snorkeled from Calabash Bay to Frenchman's today, got out of the water there, and had a beer with Eggie. I was very pleased to see how much sand was back. Eggie said it came back quickly. I would say I walked about 25 feet from the water to Eggie's place and looking down the beach I saw sand right up to John Rock's Point. Perfect sandy beach for a long walk.

Didn't have my camera with me as I was snorkeling, but I will try to get a picture for you tomorrow.

When I got back into the sea to start my trek back to Calabash Bay, I was escorted by a 1 inch yellow tailed snapper the entire way to Calabash Bay. This has never happened to me before for such a length of time. I've had small fish swim around me for a bit and then leave. I've even had a remora (SP) try to attach himself to me, but THIS has never happened. I felt like little Nemo was directing me the whole way back home. He just stayed about a foot directly in front of my face the whole distance. Once in a while a strong current would take him away and a few seconds later I would see him swimming up my underside to take his place back in front of me. When I got to Calabash Bay, I showed my new little friend to a young man swimming in the water. As I got out of the water, the little fish started to follow him around! It was just great fun and what an amazing experience.

Have I told any of you how much I love this time of year?!?!?

Where exactly is Eggy's?
And is 'Good Vibes' by Winsomes still there with Cliff?

Eggy's is right where all the boats are located on Frechman's Beach.

I am not sure about Good Vibes. I know Bobby Jack is running a bar next to Winsome's but I am not sure of the name.

Thanks, Rebecca. The beach looks great and just makes me more ready than ever for February.
