I am hoping you can all give me some ideas of how to spend nice family days together in treasure beach.
We will be in the area for only a week with family aged between 3 and 85!
we want to have a few things planned so we are not just confined to the villa daily,

so far I have planned a sunday -morning church in billys bay and evening at jack sprats for dinner swimming sunset and beach bonfire etc.

does anybody have any other suggestions for any other days?

also for a couple of the adults in the group is the fishermans bar at nightime a friendly safe place to visit or would you not advise it?

thanks,

you could plan dinner at little ochie one day and stop at lovers leap on the way to or from they are both in the same direction.

Definitely take a trip to YS Falls. And do not miss a boat trip out to Floyds. For a more gentle sightseeing ride, go on Dennis' floating bar.

... and please don't forget Lovers' Leap. The view is breath-taking. Try and be there at sunset. You certainly wouldn't forget that sight for a long time to come.

Hi Excited,
I remember that feeling from the first time we visited TB. We loved the boat trip up the Black River with Dennis - we saw a family of dolphins along the way and lots of alligators! Floyd's Pelican Bar was amazing - great fresh fish, amazing location, and comfortable swimming. Can't beat Jack Sprats for dinner, swimming, and friendly people. We also enjoyed a car trip down Bamboo Alley, a stop for lunch, and the Appleton tour. There was a park with a great sandy beach and a reef right off shore for snorkeling not too far from TB- can't remember the name at the moment, though. The market in Black River was colourful and full of fresh produce. And we loved just walking down the roads and meeting people, stopping at little fruit/veggie stands people had in front of their homes and just being in the quiet peace of the area.
I envy your trip...we can't wait to go back.

I think Dennis' Floating Bar is about $35 per person, somewhat less for kids. Includes one rum punch or similar. The trip takes perhaps 2-1/2 hours. Bring your cameras.

Floyd's is fine for someone elderly; I've seen them lift people out of boats to get in there.

Little Ochie may be a far drive for someone who's slightly infirm; if you go, be 100% sure you know the directions. Or hire a good local driver.

thanks everyone!is floyds the bar in the sea?I really want to go there but will not be able to take everybody because I think there are steps up to it which may be a problem, where do you actually go on dennis'boat?
how long would it take in a car to little ochie?
we will definately be hiring a driver for everything!
do they have roadside stands in the treasure beach area or little snack shops where you can buy a bit of chicken etc?
also when the boats come in can you buy fish directly from the fishermen?

You can buy fish directly from the fishermen. If you are staying in a villa, it's best your housekeeper buys the fish, as they can tell exactly which are the best ones, but you are always encouraged to join them. Also they may have a favorite fishermen or perhaps even their husband may be a fisherman. If you are doing your own cooking, buy direct but ask someone on the beach for advice if you need it. The prices are pretty much the same, no matter the fisherman.

A car ride to Little Ochies is a bit over a hour. Maybe 1-1/4 hours.

There are plenty of roadside stands and little restaurants in Treasure Beach. Also, some on the beach.

If you go to Floyd's, you would go in a regular boat, not Dennis' Floating Bar. Dennis has a boat to go out to Floyd's as do maybe 10 others. The stairs are not a problem because people will always offer to lift someone both up and down. If someone is infirm I would not take them in a regular boat; even with a life jacket you want to be certain they can swim or easily supported by someone else. Just in case.
