I can't believe the price to run one refrigerator and a couple of lights, every month my Bill is over 10,000'00Ja. is everyone paying as much? or do I need to have my meter checked. Any input would be welcome.

This seems excessive for just one refrigerator and lights, you need to contact JPS and let them check it out.

Add a TV, radio, fans, more than one person in the house, and that is about right. But I agree, if it really is a frdge and lights and one person living alone, check out your meter.

I am one person, no TV, but do have radio, computer, fans, etc. and I am not too far behind you!

I heard they use a binocular while standing outside your gate which could be many, many feet away to read your meter.
Between the telephone and the light company that is one of the reason why some people do not want to return to retire in Jamaica.Nothing seems right with those two companies.I think people will have to protest all over the Island before there will be some changes.
My mother live far off the main, no one come on her property to read her meter so, how do they know how much she has used for that month.GIVE ME A BREAK -SOMETHING WANG. GOT IT!

Yep, they sure do use binoculars to read the meters from their vehicles.

Maybe it's time to write to the Jamaica Gleaner. Advertise a day of marching to protest the high cost of Electricity bills due to the fact that metres are not read.

It states right on the bill whether the bill is an actual or an estimated reading. Estimated means the meter was not read that month and this is an estimate. The next time an actual reading is made any adjustments would be made to the bill.
