This was originally posted in the sympathy notice for the death of members of the Kisoun family. It was moved to its own thread since its off topic
-TBNet

First of all let me offer my sympathies to the family who had this boating accident. Heaven knows that persons who experience this kind of tragedy need all the sympathies and prayers they can get and I feel extremely saddened by the accidents that are related to the sea. I notice that this original post came from our very own Rebecca, and she is playing her role as assistant to the webmaster well. Unfortunately, I read on this very site that four fishermen who sailed from Calabash Bay lost their lives. This is a topic that a lot of us from the area were interested in. I watched the site for days to see a post from Rebecca or the Webmaster, particularly because of the impact this would have had on the entire wider community. Apparently Rebecca only makes a post when she knows the victims or members of their families. Do better than that Rebecca! I will understand if this does not get posted.

I am sorry you feel that way Saddened. I do not feel I need to justify my actions to you, however, I would like to use this message as an example of what can happen when assumptions and judgements are made without holding all the facts.

I was off-island with very limited access to internet during the last 3 weeks. I tried to keep up with the posts regarding the fishermen and did post messages when I felt I had new information to add, but as I was not here, I was waiting to see posts to know more just like everyone else.

As for the last accusation, all I can say is you obviously don't know me.

I will continue to pray for the safe return of the missing fishermen, as I am not ready to give up hope yet.

Saddened: Really? I mean really?

Have you seen the pictures of the Fishermen's Memorial on this site? Guess who took them?

Have you been to one of the Memorial services? Guess who has been to each one and provided funding for them.

Really???

How rude,
and what exactly was it Rebecca was expected to say?
This is what happens when people go round assuming things and thinking things but never actually taking any time out to ask questions or DO ANYTHING.
Get involved in the fishermens project and do not worry who has said or done what, just concentrate on your own efforts to help resolve this situation.
We all need to be asking ourselves what can I do rather than why is he/she not doing anything

Saddened Rebecca said she was not in Jamaica at the time.
So how can she attend memorial service while she is abroad or how can he post info when she dont have info to post.
I am sure if she was there at the time she would be the first to post stuff as she has always done.
Give her a break.

I don't know who you are but I will echo those who felt your comments were out of place.

I hope you know what is meant by the word assume: it makes an as_ out of you and me. Stop assuming and do something for the community.

Rebecca deserves an apology. Plus, she is a lady to have even put up your unkind post in the first place.

I very much appreciate all the supporting messages I've received. However, Eric and I have choosen to close this thread as we would prefer to concentrate on attentions being giving to solutions being worked on for the fishermen and further condolences to those affected.

Thank you very much for your continued support for TB.Net
