Hi,

My wife and I are flying into Kingston on June 18th at 11am and need to find a way to get to Jakes Hotel in Treasure Beach. The hotel said they would send a driver for US$220 each way. That's a ton of money. Is there any cheaper way? Any help would be much appreciated.

That's their way of making money. There are always Vans running from kingston to treasure beach, that's how I get around when I go to Jamaica. You have to go to the Taxi stand.

Take a bus from Kingston to Santa Cruz, then Route Taxi to TB.

We found transportation was much cheaper to have a driver get us from Montego Bay airport as opposed to Kingston. I realize that does not help you now, but maybe for future reference...

I do not recommend a taxstand in Kingston or Mo Bay. Some people cannot be trusted. Like LoriQ said, arrange for someone to pick you up at either airport. It works for me everytime. Good luck!

Wow! That's a bunch. My wife and I recently got a ride from MoBay airport to Treasure Beach for $120US, plus tip. I don't know the difference in mileage from Kingston, or if the driver even goes there. However, I do have his cell phone number if you want to e-mail me privately.

The mileage and time are much greater from Kingston vs. Montego Bay. We are now paying about $5.00 US per gallon of gas here, so all transport costs have recently gone up. Treasure Tours has had to raise our prices for a Mobay transfer from $120 US to $135 US and Kingston from $175 US to $195 US. Even at that, since we raised those prices about 1 month ago the gas price here has increased by $30 JA per liter and is still going up, the same way it is all over the world.

Change to mo bay. You will get a certified driver you can trust from the captain at the air port. It is a shorter and a scenic drive.

I also find the drive from Mo Bay to be more pleasant.

My husband and I used Treasure Tours to get from the airport to TB, Sylvan was our driver, to get from MoBay. Not only did we get a safe, comfortable ride to Jake's, we got a great tour and met a fabulous person who was so willing to tell us about the countryside, life in JA and himself. Pay the money...it's totally worth it!

So far I have NOT had a bad experience with any driver from Treasure Tours. My last one was Sylvan and I loved him. I also loved Kevin and Westin. They seem to have an intuition as to when you want to chat and when you want to just sit back and reflect. I would never hestitate to recommend Treasure Tours
