How many of us living outside of Jamaica still considers Jamaica our home?, presently am living in London but, Jamaica will always be my home, well T/Beach, St. Elizabeth. Love the freedom it offers, fresh fruits, vegetables all round, a stress free life, although lately prices have gone through the roof. Paying huge bills is getting on top of the residents, but still it offers relaxation for us visiting Home and the fact that you don't have to get dress to go outside. Everything FRESH!!!!!

Jamaica land we love.There is something theraputic about being in Jamaica.The natural environment, the food, the great country or rural way of life, the music, the friendliness of the people- sharing and caring even in these hard times; which is being experienced by a lot of people here in the USA today, also. We are blessed with a wonderful slice of mother earth. Let's support the preservation of its fame and beauty and unite in the cause against crime.

Jamaica is a nice place, as I grew up there, but there are a number of things that need sorting out urgently which will make Ja a better place to live.

* Too many potholes
* more lighting on the streets
* Better Road signs
* More jobs(Investors) are needed to boost the economy, instead of sending work to India, why not send some to Jamaica

*Because of the poverty, that's why there is so much killing on the little island

*More youth provisions
* People need educating i.e. if you have an accident they are ready to chop or shoot you.

Elections campaigns need to be changed, as it's taken too seriously, and innocent people lose their lives because of the colur of the clothes.

Beautiful, beautiful Jamaica. When I visit my home, I stay in the area where my poorer relatives live. I love to go back to roots, talk and eat with the poorer people. I am fortunate to have a good life abroad-----eat what I want, wear what I want and have a nice house. I do not go to Mo-Bay or Kingston or Mandeville to stay with my richer relatives. As long as the house has inside toilet and a kitchen. I am satisfied. When I come to Jamaica, upon getting into the house, I remove my watch. That watch does not go back on my hand til the day I am leaving. I no longer watch time.

jamrock, you are so right. I no longer know where the bed of roses is---it's getting rough abroad. We work to pay bills. I have now gotton satisfied with working to pay bills and nothing to save. can't wait to retire to come back on the soil. Hopefully, by then, the crime will be reduced. I am scared of that. I remember the days as a child, I would walk to the shop at nights, it was so dark, I could not see mored than 6 inches in front.

People seem to keep bringing up the crime. Theres nothing to worry about in TB. Also, if you do the research you will find that Jamaica is not even in the top ten. The only reason why the crimes seem worse than in the US is because the way in shich they are carried out, or the cause behindthe crime.

http://www.mapsofworld.com/world-top-ten/countries-with-highest-reported-crime-r ates.html

Something you might find interesting.

A word of advice. All who are able to do so, please plant something in the ground or raise a few chickens to help yourself. The world is getting real dangerous as regards food prices and the purchase of goods/services in general. It's not only Jamaica. Anyone who has to buy everything they need, and cannot at the same time offset this by having something to sell will feel it. In other words if all your income is from being employed by someone, unless you are handsomely paid, you will feel it more and more. There are rapacious(remember that word?) business people out there that are cornering the individual markets and driving up prices. I am not talking about shopkeepers etc., instead we are dealing with mutinational cartels that are uncaring of world turmoil. Rice has gone up by 50% at my local market here in the US. A barrel of oil went up by $6.00, just today alone and no one can say exactly why, always this report or that projection. Anyhow buckle down people and take care of yourself and your brothers and sisters. Peace
