Ahhhhh, my favorite time of year . . . mango time. Breakfast yesterday morning was 3 of the sweetest, ripest, juiciest, Julie mangoes. Yesterday afternoon's snack was 2 of the sweetest, ripest, juiciest, East Indian mangoes.

And the best news - I still have more ripening in my fruit basket as we speak!

mangoes

What is your favorite type of mango? Mine is Julie with Keith and East Indian as close seconds.

Hi Rebecca,

That sure makes me miss home although we do have mangoes in our back yard in Florida. I remember those days in the hot classroom back home when Summer holidays were approaching. It use to be so hot after the lunch break that everyone use to say it was the mango heat.

Here's a little excerpt from one of our Jamaican folk songs....

" Mi nuh drink coffee tea mango time , cares how nice it may be , mango time.At the heat of the mango crop when the fruit dem a ripe an drop.
wash yuh pot tun it dung mango time."

Enjoy !!!!

One of my all time favorite memories of my early days in Jamaica was when a group of co-workers spontaneously started singing with Mango Time. That singing was just as sweet as the fruit itself.

Thanks to Shawna, Ann Marie, Mitchy, and Michelle for the great memory!

There are not many things better than eating a mango in the sea. Not only is the salt in the water a great addition to the taste, but you can be as messy as you want and then dunk your whole body in to clean off. Can't wait to do it again.

Mandy, do you have Shawna's email/phone? Send it to the webmaster@treasurebeach.net account if you do. I hope you're doing well, even without mangoes.

Robin mangoes no doubt. Memories? Mangoes and cake for lunch. Mangoes for dinner, juicy and dripping down the side of my hand. My poor frock tail and sleeves suffered.

Bombay, picked ripe.

Try blending mango flesh, soya/cow milk, nut butter, vanilla and ice. That will hold you from lunch to dinner.

Mmm ... mangoes are one of my absolute favorite fruits! I remember standing by the pool at Sparkling Waters, looking up at the mango tree and thinking: "A mango tree in your yard? This is heaven!"
